Design Process: getting a web design project started

The initial phase of a web design project focuses in on varying design research methods. Our number one priority is to make sure that we are following a user centered design process. We want to get to know your clients, the end users of your new website, your target market if you will. We want to get inside their heads and figure out what will speak to your users, and then we will design to support that message…Another important step is determining your brand or your identity. If you or your company does not have a strongly defined brand, or an identity that is currently represented by your graphics and logos, as web designers we can create one for you.

A student Experience

As web design students we love it when we have the chance to actually sink our teeth into a project, and “design” a website to our hearts content. The Interactive Media Design program at Capilano University shares it’s home in the Arbutus building on campus with another well know design program, the 3 year IDEA program. We have always been curious about what goes on with all those design students plunked in-front of their iMacs all day and night in the IDEA studio. So we took the opportunity to meet a few of our neighbors and we even recorded it for you to watch.
