Duder (tvTayber) ’s Profile
Robot Salmon: What is the one thing in life that you couldn’t do without?
Duder: Coffee, and this is kind of sick, but sometimes I get excited to go to sleep so I can get up in the morning and drink some coffee!
Robot Salmon: What are your talents or strengths (as a designer or developer)?
Duder: My strengths come from my desire to learn and to create. I am a firm believer that in order to create you must produce things (hopefully tangible ones). So I devour anything that helps me to create and produce. I can code with the best of them, I am a css ninja, I can design cool stuff too and I rock at Project Management. I’m a bit of a Jack of All Trades I guess. My favourite thing to do is task flow. I love trying to direct traffic and organize websites.
Robot Salmon: What is the number one predator that you are afraid of on your digital journey upstream?
Duder: Birds of Prey, specifically the Bald Eagle I saw flying over the Burrard St. Bridge the other day scoping out a place for a nest.
Robot Salmon: What is your all time favorite website?
Duder: My favourite website of all the time in the universe is the Wikipedia. I wish it had been around when I was younger, it is a great place to start when you are trying to learn about stuff.
Plus I play this fun game with my pre-wife called a wik-off. It usually involves her thinking I’m stupid, which is reasonable because most of the time I don’t know what I’m talking about, and me trying to prove her wrong about something, which is futile because she is much smarter than me. So I look the disputed fact up in Wikipedia to see who is right, hence the wik-off. Who ever can prove their point best using Wikipedia wins!
Robot Salmon: What is the number one music album that changed your life?
Duder: NOFX RIbbed – that album made me realize that I could be a rebel… (pretty close to No Code’s, weird but true). One summer a friend made me a mixed tape of NOFX, SNFU, DOA, The Descendants and some other crap. After I heard punk there was no going back.
Robot Salmon: How did you get your nick name?
Duder: I was helping Dave Olsson hook his computer up to a projector and he called me Duder and it stuck.
